# GetAlternative

> The tool leaderboard you can buy your way to the top of. Every tool on the board paid for its rank; list yours and outbid the rest — the highest bid takes the top spot.

GetAlternative is a live, public leaderboard of tools ranked by what their owners pay. Anyone can list any tool by bidding in whole US dollars; the board ranks listings by bid, highest first. Taking #1 right now costs $6.

## How ranking works

- Bids are whole US dollars, minimum $5.
- The highest bid ranks first; on a tie, the older confirmed payment wins.
- Raising your own bid must add at least $1 and only charges the difference.
- Outbidding another listing costs its current bid plus $1.
- A bid buys placement on the board; a listing holds its rank until someone outbids it.
- Listing titles are dofollow links to the listed site (no nofollow, no redirect hop).
